DENNIS MCCAUGHEY, (lead vocals, rhythm guitar and harmonica) is not a stranger to the Central PA music scene. He formed Tropical Soul 24 years ago, and prior to that, has been a member of the duos, Double Play and Jigsaw and his resume also includes a solo career that still continues. He has released seven CDs, Days like These, in 1996, Tropical Soul, in November, 2000, No Plans At All, in November, 2004, and a live recording, We're All Here, Come Hell or High Water, in November 2008.  Little Summertime followed in 2011 and Blue Jeans and Blue Skies in 2015.  His current release, Best Day Ever, was released in September, 2020.

Best Day Ever includes 12 tracks, including 8 new original compositions, 2 covers and a pair of re-releases. The first single is "Somewhere South of I Don't Care," co-written by Dennis and Heather Jean Miller.  Best Day Ever also features performances by TRMA Award Winners Heather Vidal and John Patti.  

TROPICAL SOUL is a three time winner of the Trop Rock Music Association's Duo/Trio of the Year award, and have been nominees on multiple other occasions.    Their  appearances include openings for national artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Scott Kirby, Peter Mayer, Mac McAnally, Club Trini, and Bill "The Sauce Boss" Wharton, St. Somewhere, and have performed with John Frinzi, Doyle Grisham, James "Sunny Jim" White, Tall Paul and Crawdaddy, the Calypso Nuts and Jimmy and the Parrots, among many other Trop Rock artists. Musical collaborations include R. Scott Bryan, who spent five years with the Sheryl Crow Band and currently a member of the Allman Betz Band, and who played percussion and produced the Tropical Soul, No Plans At All and We're All Here CDs, and Tina Gullickson, of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. In addition, both Peter Mayer and Doyle Grisham of the Coral Reefer band played on the No Plans At All CD.
